  1. v3.14.0

    Latest

Work over SSH and in the browser

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    Improved

    • Open in my browser is now its own button on a machine card.
    • Reach a workspace or machine over SSH, open its apps in your browser, and keep files in Files and ~/shared. The apps no longer offer the remote desktop.
    Download for your computer
  2. v3.13.0

Try Hinode after a card check

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    New

    • Eligible new accounts can get $10 of trial credit after a $1 card check and full refund, subject to the daily allowance.
    • Try any GPU size on one machine for up to seven days, with twenty start attempts. Machines stop before credit runs out. Files are kept for 24 hours after the trial ends unless you add prepaid credit.

    Improved

    • The browser shows the card check, refund and credit status together. An interrupted check resumes without a second payment or bonus.
    • The new-workspace note leads to the secure browser form. It no longer promises a bonus on the first top-up.
  3. v3.12.0

$5 extra on your first top-up

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    New

    • Your first top-up gets $5 of free credit on top. It comes once per organization and once per card.

    Improved

    • The first payment asks whether to top up automatically. Nothing is turned on for you, and you choose before you pay.
    • The form for a new workspace no longer lists rates. It says what pays for the workspace: your organization's credit, or a first top-up from $10.
    • Your tier counts every machine you have, paused ones too. At the limit, the apps say which machine to delete and what the next tier adds.
  4. v3.11.0

Prepaid credit, and Billing that starts with your balance

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    New

    • Hinode is now prepaid. You add credit, and everything you run is paid from it. At $0 your machines pause and keep their disks.
    • Turn on auto-recharge and the credit tops itself up below a level you choose, so machines never pause.
    • Billing shows your tier and the way to the next one: how much to pay, how many days are left, and what it unlocks.
    • Top-ups and invoices are in one list, newest first, with a PDF for each invoice.
    • In the terminal, hinode billing shows your credit, auto-recharge and tier.

    Improved

    • Billing opens on your credit and your tier, then what this month cost. The apps open your web Billing to add credit or change auto-recharge.
    • If auto-recharge turns itself off, Billing says why: a declined card, a payment your bank wants you to confirm, or no card. The button next to it fixes it.
    • Billed to shows the card and the invoice address side by side.
    • When your organization runs as many machines as its tier allows, the apps say which machine to pause and what the next tier adds.
    • A workspace paused at $0 says so on Files and Machines, with Add credit.
  5. v3.10.4

Add a card from the Machines screen

    macOSWindowsLinux

    Improved

    • On a workspace waiting for a card, the Machines screen offers Add a card instead of Attach a machine.
    • The form for your first workspace asks only for its name. You see the prices when you add your card. If a new workspace starts billing the moment you create it, the form shows both rates first.

    Fixed

    • On Windows, closing the stream window after the main window no longer crashes Hinode.
  6. v3.10.3

See who has a machine, and every file on its way

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    New

    • A machine's card says who is using its screen: someone in your organization, or you on another device. Connect waits until they disconnect; Pause still works.
    • On Windows, Explorer shows each file in your workspace's folder going up or coming down: a progress bar in the row, then a green check.

    Improved

    • On the Mac, Finder's progress for a workspace file follows its bytes, and stopping it there ends the transfer.
    • On Windows, a large file that lives only on the workspace opens much faster.
    • On Windows, a file still being written, such as a browser download, uploads once it is finished.
    • A workspace with a large shared folder goes to sleep when nobody is using it.

    Fixed

    • A download interrupted by a dropped connection picks up where it stopped, and the file comes out whole.
    • On Windows, opening a file that is only on the workspace no longer closes the app.
    • On Windows, uploads waiting to retry go as soon as the workspace is back, and folders made on the workspace while the app was closed appear.
  7. v3.10.2

    Your screen stays yours

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    Improved

    • A machine's screen belongs to the person using it: nobody else in the organization can take it over or end their session.
    • Deleting your account also removes your SSH keys and every device you paired.
    • Invitations name who sent them, even when that person has no name on their account.

    Fixed

    • On Linux, People lines up its columns, and the new workspace form shows its prices.
    • On Windows, Referrals has its icon, and Settings wraps long captions.
    • On the Mac, organization dialogs keep their buttons on one line, and the organization switcher stays inside the window.
  8. v3.10.1

    Organizations, tidied up

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    New

    • If you are in no organization, Hinode asks you to make one, and you can start from there.

    Improved

    • Give your own organization away and nothing new appears in its place: you stay in it as a member, and make another when you need one.
    • People shows each person's current email.
    • While you alone own an organization other people are in, Delete account waits until you make someone else its owner.

    Fixed

    • Deleting your account from the Mac, Windows or Linux app also deletes your own organization.
  9. v3.10.0

Work on Hinode as a team

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    New

    • Make an organization and invite people by email, as owners or members. Owners see every workspace; members see the ones an owner gives them.
    • Each organization pays with its own card and gets its own monthly invoice.
    • Give your organization to someone in it.
    • Remove someone, and their SSH keys come off the organization's machines at once.

    Improved

    • When you delete your account, organizations with other people in them stay, with their workspaces.

    Fixed

    • On Windows, you can rename and move files and folders in your workspace's folder, and the workspace gets the new names.
    • Files inside a renamed folder open, download and delete as before.
  10. v3.9.7

See when Hinode asks for a GPU again

    macOSWindowsLinuxWeb

    Improved

    • When no GPU of your machine's size is free, its card counts down to the next try: No GPUs · 2:41.
